Whimsical Fairy House & Keepsake Picture Frame Workshop
In this workshop learn to make a keepsake picture frame and a small New England style fairy house using natural materials gathered from local beaches and forests. As the holidays approach, these pieces will make heartfelt gifts for your loved ones or unique pieces for your own collection. In this workshop, learn to use seaglass, shells, twigs and bark from New England to build one-of-a-kind pieces held together with hot glue. Be sure to wear your “artist” outfit complete with apron and prepare to get a bit messy as the instructor walks you through the steps to create these keepsakes. Clippers, hot glue guns, glue sticks and materials provided but please bring sea glass, shells, rocks or other small items you would like to incorporate into your design. Did a tree recently fall in your yard? Bring a few small twigs to remember your tree by. Have a favorite sweater that no longer fits? Bring a button to include in your design. Dried flowers from your garden? Whatever reminds you of something that brings you joy or, come as you are and use instructor’s collected items from Maine, CT, Vermont, NH, MA and RI. Plus, learn a bit about the native animals, plants and trees in our beautiful backyards and the ways in which they have changed over the last 30 years and what you can expect in the decades to come to enhance your future designs.
