Coptic Stitch Journal Workshop

Join multidisciplinary artist Julia Kunze for a hands-on, two-day bookmaking workshop focused on crafting your own personalized journal using the traditional Coptic stitch binding technique. Julia will guide participants through each step of the process – from designing custom covers to stitching the final binding, creating a unique piece of art.
This workshop is ideal for artists, writers, and anyone interested in journaling, sketchbook making, or paper-based storytelling. No prior bookbinding experience is necessary.
Participants learn how to design and collage personalized journal covers, how to prepare signatures and use essential bookbinding tools, and the step-by-step stitching technique to assemble a durable, lay-flat journal. All tools and materials will be provided. Participants, however, are encouraged to bring personal collage materials to personalize their collaged covers.
